Objectives
Based on the mission, the college has set the following objective:
Our Vision
To offer a high-quality course of instruction involving classroom, laboratory and extracurricular activities that will result in the up gradation of professionals qualified to begin careers in the field of engineering and prepared to assume responsible places of leadership in society.
To maintain a reputation for academic excellence in the eyes of the public, industry, and government in order to attract talent to our college and to obtain their support for the continuation and expansion of our programs.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Polytechnic Institute (GTBPI) was established in the year 1994 to fulfill the current demands of qualified Engineers in the field of Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
G.T.B.P.I. is a minority Institute Managed by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, which is a premier representative body of Sikhs in Delhi. The management is already running four colleges, ten Public Schools, five Khalsa Schools, One Gurmat College, one Industrial Training Institute in Delhi. The Polytechnic imparts diploma in various disciplines viz. Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Digital Electronics & Microprocessor Design and Automobile Engineering. The Diploma programme in Computer Engineering is at par with Diploma offered by NIIT as per the revised syllabus of Computer Engineering. Similarly the syllabus of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering have been revised to make these courses more technological based to meet the requirements of Industry. Admissions of 50% of intake shall be decided by Management of the Institute as per the rules laid down by the Govt. of NCT Delhi and the remaining 50% seats are filled by Board of Technical Education, Govt. of NCT Delhi. All the students who wish to avail the admission facility against quota of Management must have already appeared and qualified the Common Entrance Test for Polytechnics conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. They should apply afresh on the Institute form available along with Prospectus and submit complete forms latest by 4 July 2004 to GTBPI.

About Parent Body of the Organization
Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee
(DSGMC),a premier welfare organization constituted under the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Act 1997,has always felt very strongly that in view of its mission and goals, it is in a crucial position to play a significant role in providing education to young men & women. Now in the light of the opening of the Indian economy, it can make significant contribution in this field.
Present dynamic leadership of DSGMC has embarked on the project in spirit of service to the emerging young generation without any profit motive, DSGMC is already running for the benefit of - 15 schools, 4 colleges, 5 technical institutes, 2 hospitals and 2 dispensaries.
