1.      General Information:  

The Fr. Agnel Polytechnic, Gautam Nagar, New Delhi was established in the year 1994 by Agnel Ashram Fathers. Agnel Charities under whose management and control the polytechnic runs believe in the principles of social justice and secularism and work for an integrated rational, egalitarian and caring society. All the Agnel institutions are open to one and all regardless of caste, creed or social status. The students are, therefore, made not only to acquire technical competencies but also inculcate discipline, moral values and respect for others. The polytechnic is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the Board of Technical education, New Delhi .  

Fr. Agnel Polytechnic with its motto “Excellence through competency and discipline” caters to the needs of the prospering society and high-tech industries with its quality education and premium grade infrastructure. It is rated as one of the best institutions in the self-financing sector. The Polytechnic is centrally located near Gulmohar Park and Niti Bagh in South Delhi and has adequate transport facilities available from all parts of the city.  

2.      History of the Institute:  

Fr. Agnel Polytechnic, Gautam Nagar, New Delhi is a part of the Agnel Ashram family. The Agnel Ashram Fathers comprise a group of priests and brothers, along with some dedicated and patriotic co-workers, who during the last 45 years built a well-knit family of Agnelities. Rising above all religious, communal and social differences, this unique family has been instrumental in propounding a MOVEMENT that has sent outstanding waves in the realm of education.  

The movement originated way back in 1957 in Mumbai. It started from Bandra (Mumbai) and over the years, it has spread its wings and established schools, polytechnics and engineering colleges in

5.      Facilities Details:  

The Polytechnic has been built in a 3-acre plot and has an auditorium, play ground, basketball and tennis court. Facility of Canteen is available. Water coolers fitted with water purifier have been provided on each floor. DTC passes are available at a cost of Rs.150/= per month. There are spacious class rooms with modern furniture and equipped with P. A. system and latest teaching aids like LCD projectors. A big library with reading room containing nearly 7000 books and 20 journals is available. Xerox facility for students has also been provided in the polytechnic. Polytechnic has a 24 hours Internet facility easily accessible for all the students.  The Polytechnic has two software laboratories containing over 100 computers which are connected in network using XEON server. The polytechnic has well equipped laboratories with latest equipments.         

 

6.      Placement Details:  

The polytechnic attaches great importance to the training of students in industry and their placements and therefore, maintains good liaison with industry and user organizations. A large number of companies visit the institution for selecting the students for recruitment. The polytechnic publishes a directory of passing out students to enable the employers to call the students independently whenever they are in need of manpower. There is almost 100% placement of the passing out students. Companies like HCL Comnet, HCL Infosystem, IBM, CCS Computers, Compcare Systems, ST Microelectronics India , ERNET, Net Work Solutions are regular employers of our students of electronics and computer engineering.  

The students of MOP are placed in reputed organizations such as Jet Airways, HDFC Bank, ABN AMRO Bank, India bulls, Converges, E Funds, V Shipping, DMRC, IRTC, Indian Habitat Center , Indian Airlines etc. There is so much of demand for MOP graduates that the polytechnic has to sometimes express regret.  

7.      Alumni Association:  

The Polytechnic is in the process of constituting Alumni Association and has already built up sufficient database of Alumni Association. Membership of large number of students who have passed the polytechnic has been received and it is proposed to soon hold a meeting of the Alumni Association.  

8.      Industry interface:  

The polytechnic has established a good interface with industry so that the students can be trained in accordance with the needs of industry. Executives from companies like IBM, ST Microelectronics, Punj & Lloyd, CSC, CCS Computers, HCL Infosystems are associated with the activities of the polytechnic and their advice is taken in organizing value added training programs for the students. Special Courses like embedded technology, mobile repairing, maintenance and repair of computer are being organized for the benefit of the students. Competitions in developing projects which are useful in day-to-day life are held every year and are evaluated by the executives from the industry. The polytechnic periodically collect the feedback from the industries where our students are placed or being trained.
